自1996年以来,一直致力于原核微生物资源的研究工作,重点开展极端环境或各种特殊环境(植物内生或海洋)下的原核微生物(重点是放线菌)资源的收集、保存及生态学、系统分类学及其应用价值评估(活性筛选、代谢产物化学及酶学等)等方面的研究;
在日本北里研究所生物机能研究中心从事放线菌和极端环境下的放线菌分离、系统分类合作研究;[2]

李文均主要科研成果
李文均教授长期围绕微生物资源与生态学方向,主要从事放线菌的系统分类、资源利用与生态学研究,创新性成果包括:(1)建立了针对多种特殊生境放线菌的分离方法,对我国西部地区放线菌资源进行系统分离并保存了5万余株放线菌;(2)先后发现、建立并生效发表了细菌、放线菌新目4个,新科10个,新属30余个,新种300余个,显著提高了我国在该领域的国际地位;(3)与科研院所、企业广泛合作,资源共享,推动了特殊生境放线菌资源的活性筛选和次生代谢产物、酶学等研究;(4)对原核微生物莽草酸通路起源和分子进化、极端环境微生物生态适应性机制进行了深入研究并取得积极进展[1]
先后承担了包括国家科技部“973”子课题,973前期,国家科技部国际合作重点项目,国家自然科学基金等在内的20余项国家级或省级课题的研究,现在研主持1项科技部国际合作专项,1项国家自然科学基金面上项目,1 项省重点项目及部分横向合作课题。已在国内外刊物上发表学术论文450余篇(其中SCI源刊论文350余篇),专著3部,受邀撰写新版伯杰氏系统细菌学手册(Bergey’s Manual of Systematic Bacteriology)6章,新版原核微生物(The Prokaryotes)2章,申请专利19件。另外,他还先后荣获云南省自然科学一等奖(2次,分别排名第一和第三)、教育部自然科学二等奖(排名第一)、云南省自然科学三等奖(排名第三)、云南省青年科技奖、云南大学伍达观优秀教师奖、云南省十大杰出青年提名奖、“云南省青年五四奖章” 提名奖、云南省突出贡献专业技术人才等20余项奖励[1]
