第二届中国可视化与可视分析大会（ChinaVis 2015）将于-18日在天津举行。此次大会由天津大学承办，中国计算机学会大数据专家委员会、中国计算机学会高性能专业委员会、中国计算机学会计算机辅助设计与图形学专业委员会协办，日本可视化学会，韩国可视化学会合作举办。
中国可视化与可视分析大会的主要宗旨为促进大数据时代可视化与可视分析在各行业的研究与应用交流，挖掘可视化与可视分析领域的潜在机遇，推动学术界与产业界相关方向的互动与共同发展。
本次大会包括特邀报告、论文报告和专题研讨。会议邀请国内外可视化领域知名专家就相关研究与应用的最新进展作专题报告，了解最新发展动态，开拓新思路；会议提供机会与国内外著名专家、企业家、应用部门面对面交流，深入研讨可视化前沿技术及其应用，为产、学、研方搭建交流和沟通的平台，促进人才交流。

01 Speaker:
Dr. Natalia Andrienko and Dr. Gennady Andrienko
Space, Time and Visual Analytics: a Multiple Perspectives Paradigm
Visual analytics aims to combine the strengths of human and computer data processing. Visualization, whereby humans and computers cooperate through graphics, is the means through which this is achieved. Sophisticated synergies are required for analyzing spatio-temporal data and solving spatio-temporal problems. It is necessary to take into account the specifics of the geographic space, time, and spatio-temporal data.
While a wide variety of methods and tools are available, it is still hard to find guidelines for considering a data set systematically from multiple perspectives. To fill this gap, we systematically consider the structure of spatio-temporal data, possible transformations, and demonstrate several workflows of comprehensive analysis of different data sets, paying special attention to the investigation of data properties. We finish the talk by outlying directions for future research, including semantic level analysis and big data.
Dr. Natalia Andrienko and Dr. Gennady Andrienko (www.geoanalytics.net/and)are lead scientists responsible for the visual analytics research at Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information systems (IAIS) and full professors (part time) at City University London, UK.
They co-authored monographs “Exploratory Analysis of Spatial and Temporal Data”(Springer, 1996) and “Visual Analytics of Movement” (Springer, 2013) and more than 70 peer-reviewed journal papers and 20 book chapters.
Since 2007, Gennady Andrienko is chairing the Commission on GeoVisualization of the ICA - International Cartographic Association. He co-organized scientific events on visual analytics, geovisualization and visual data mining, andco-edited 11 special issues of major journals. Gennady Andrienko was poster chair of IEEE VAST
and is paper chair of IEEE VAST 2015.
Natalia Ansdrienko is editorial board member of Journal of Geographical Systems and tutorial chair of IEEE VIS 2015. Gennady Andrienko is associate editor of three journals, Information Visualization, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, and International Journal of Cartography, and editorial board member of Cartography and Geographic Information Science. Natalia and Gennady Andrienko received best paper awards at AGILE 2006 and IEEE VAST 2011 and 2012, honorable mention award at IEEE VAST 2010, VAST challenge awards 2008 and 2014, and best poster awards at AGILE 2007 and ACM GIS 2011 conferences.

Dr. Kwan-Liu Ma
Frontiers of Visualization Research
Visualization has become an important tool in many areas of study for understanding and explaining large complex data. While many visualization research innovations have been made over the years, the demand for new designs and more usable visualization continues to grow with the rise of Big Data, Internet of Things, and extreme-scale computing. How to meet this demand? What are the emerging frontiers of visualization research? I will touch topics in SciVis, InfoVis, and VAST, and discuss promising directions using research results that my group has produced as examples.
Dr. Kwan-Liu Ma is a professor of computer science at the University of California-Davis. He leads the VIDI (Visualization and Interface Design Innovation) research group, and directs the UC Davis Center for Visualization. His research spans the fields of visualization, computer graphics, high-performance computing, and user interface design. Professor Ma received his PhD in computer science from the University of Utah in 1993. During , he was with ICASE/NASA Langley Research Center as a research scientist. He joined UC Davis in 1999 and received the PECASE award at the White House in 2000. In 2012 he was elected as an IEEE Fellow, and in 2013 he received the IEEE Visualization Technical Achievement Award. Professor Ma has been actively serving the research community by playing leading roles in technical meetings such as Ultravis, EGPGV, VizSec, PacificVis, and LDAV. He served on the editorial board of for the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) during
and the Journal of Computational Science and Discovery during . He presently serves as the AEIC of the IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications (CG&A) and also on the editorial board of the Journal of Visualization. He was a papers chair of the IEEE Visualization Conference in 2008 and 2009, and presently serves as a papers chair of EuroVis 2015 and IEEE InfoVis 2015.
