There&#39;s another little plan
- I have moved all my other e-commerce domains into this site via 301 redirect. If I can get this aspect of the site working, I will open it up to other people holding e-commerce domains.
There has to be better solutions for these e-commerce domains other than parking (or linkspam as your users are now referring it as!). I&#39;m not going to open it up until I get it right for myself. As Paul Graham says - I am the first user. To to this, we have signed up with FreshScript, we&#39;re hopeful this will bring about the improvement.Here&#39;s the thing. I swore as we were , that we would not develop lots of Amazon sites - we would just do one well and leave it at that.
But I spotted an opportunity I could not resist . Within the AOM script, there is an option to bring across the Amazon goods - but only at a certain level of discount.
could finally come into existence, and it&#39;s been a little dream of mine to get something on this property. We&#39;re off to a good start and we have between 15-30% returning visits each day.
We&#39;ve just moved it to the cloud and just , we hope to move to freshscript for the amazon goods this year.What can you get ?
Well, I hardly need to say! We&#39;re on third iteration of this website, which is like a little app.
We now have around 30% returning visitors every day, so it worth building out these brands.
As an aside which will hopefully benefit you - names like this are very much underestimated. They communicate directly with the user. You probably know roughly what you&#39;re going to get on the site.
We actually rowed back on a change, which was a new logo. It was attracting too much attention, and we went back to the old simple logo.
We brought in sub-domains and use domain CNAMEs to enhance the user&#39;s experience.
The deep linking from domains
could be improved. I have contacted hotelscombined, our partners.The logical aim
- if you remain faithful to the domain - is to go out of business.
Digital textbooks is not the killer. That was the most likely killer, but many digital textbooks cost a fortune.
The problem is - the numbers of students in America. Due in no small part to the Internet - many school leavers are opting to leave aside huge college fees and make their own way.
There is absolutely a crisis happening in education in America and it&#39;s feeding through to the college system.
We&#39;ve accomplished the goals for the site I set at the start of 2015:
1. Move to cloud - check!
2. Recode rentals regarding parsing the data. Possibly redo the whole script - check! We&#39;ve had a good chat , and we&#39;ve integrated the top rentals like chegg into the main section, previously we had this separated.
3. Get a better preloader - check! moving to the cloud has speeded everything up, including this.
Going forward, the main thing is to test the site regularly and add new sellers as appropriate. It&#39;s still crucial we
to the best of our ability, so students who need books can get them at a price that won&#39;t break the bank.This is our website and brand where you can search for .com domain names. Myself and my co-coder have now hacked to this to death. A lot more work is required. The homepage needs work. There will be a lot of hacking coming up on the homepage. Once a search starts, I&#39;m happier. We present ten names at a time, to try and make it easier for the visitor.
I&#39;m also really happy with the colors. The more I work on the web, the more fascinated by the use of color. I am thinking of actually specialising in this area. And so, as part of an attempt to set up a payroll business with Conor McGarry, I had taken a web design course. The payroll business got nowhere... but then the question arose... what about the Internet?
And so I got stuck in. I designed web sites for event managers (I ended up designing three websites for this company), accountants, golf vacation organizers, laywers who wanted to reach out online and a marketing company.
