Xiuhu Middle School is situated in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, China. It is 1.5 hours south of Hangzhou by train. You can easily visit Hangzhou on the weekends and enjoy the West Lake and the romance of this city. Shanghai is only about 3.5 hours from Yiwu by train. Our public school has around 2600 students and it is the No 1. Middle school in our city. Nearly 1.6 million people live in Yiwu and it is noted as a famous wholesale market trade city which sells goods to over 100 different countries. The city has beautiful parks and a town square where you can rest and relax. We have top class medical facilities in the city and there is a doctor at our school. The cost of living here in Yiwu is cheaper than that of bigger cities such as Hangzhou and Shanghai. Therefore you will have a great opportunity to save money or fund your wayward travels in China during the holiday break periods. Living and working in China is an unforgettable and life changing experience. It allows you to fully immerse yourself in the country's rich vibrant culture and explore it's amazing history. Yiwu is well postioned and well connected for travel throughout China. You can easily walk to the city centre from our school. You will teach 16-18 academic hours per week (1 academic hour is 40 minutes) for students 12-15 years old) in our public middle school. Foreign oral English teachers also will receive the regular monthly salary during the winter holiday period within the contract.
Each foreign teacher apartment has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dining hall. Supplied are telephone (china and international calls), computer with internet, printer, furniture, TV, DVD player, microwave, gas cookers, refrigerator, western toilet, washing machine, 24 hour hot water, air conditioning, double bed and all bedding and kitchen items etc. Also 3 free meals/per day at the school dining hall.
