《激战2》也将与美剧一样，将会进入为期一个月的冬歇期，不过在此期间仍将会于12月16日在“神圣海岸”(Divinity's Reach)迎来“冬日节”(Wintersday)庆典。同时，官方将于12月16日至明年1月13日期间对天梯系统进行首次测试，玩家可去争夺各种奖励，并体验WvW“偷袭”(Sneak Attack)活动。本作的故事发生在极地之眼的250年以后，泰瑞亚的世界已彻底改变。游戏的特点在于一个持续不断变化的世界和大规模的战斗，还有为特定故事元素所设计的游戏副本。除了加入玩家期待的跳跃能力外，甚至还可以在新的水下世界体验水中冒险的乐趣。
