Since 0.8.7 was recently released and contained all the bugfixes I had
been dragging over my local Epsilon SVN working copy, I decided to
upgrade and see if I could just install the latest version from the
update repo from now on. Looks like I hit a few snags in EolSet due to
changes around SVN revision 558, though. I have since updated to the
latest version in SVN, and I'm experiencing the same problems.
I have attached a set of projects which reproduce the two issues I'm
currently experiencing:
- It seems that trying to access a derived attribute results in an
UnsupportedOperationException if its value goes to an EolSet, as it
tries to remove duplicates from an unmodifiable list (see
EcoreEList$UnmodifiableEList in ). It happens
right here in EolSet.java:

If I wrap the second half of removeDuplicates with a try ..
catch(UnsupportedOperationException ex) which ignores this exception,
everything works again as normal:

To reproduce this with the attached set of projects, unpack them into
a workspace and run the included &Test Set Regression
(UnsupportedOperationException)& run configuration. It runs the
testScript.eol script against the simple.ecore ECore model. It should
generate an exception stack trace without the fix above.
- The same code (removeDuplicates) appears to be responsible for another
regression: sometimes, I'll get IllegalStateExceptions saying that the
resource set cannot be modified without a write transaction when I run
an EVL script from a GMF editor. I don't get this error from an EMF
editor, but that's to be expected, due to bug #287542.
The line which causes these exceptions is the same &storage.clear()&
line as above. I've tried ignoring that exception, but it is no use:
somehow, the EObjects in storage seem to have disappeared after the
exception has been launched. I guess the best thing would be to avoid
removing duplicates if no transaction was in effect, but this would
couple EolSet to EMC/EMF, and I don't like that at all. However, I
don't really know how to fix this in a clean way.
To reproduce this problem, launch an Eclipse instance with the
TestRegressionSet.* plugins and create a new &Simple Diagram&. Add two
nodes and at least one link between them. Save, use &Edit &
Validate&: a message box with the text of the exception will pop up.
Save if necessary and hit Refresh: the links will disappear. Check the
EMF model: the source and target properties of the links are now
