Is ftp enabled on the remote server? Do you have network access to port
21 on the remote server?

Try to check the nimsh services on nim server.

If it's timing out, check network connection, if there is latency/packet drops. &br />

Generally if FTP access is blocked on remote server. You will get
ftp: connect: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation immediately.
If it's timing out, check network connection, if there is latency/packet drops.
You will face the same timeout when you try to login to the remote host using ssh also, if network is bad. Try login and let us know.

Admin can config &iptables& to &reject& or &deny& a packet. &br />
DROP means to drop the packet on the floor(connection timeout ) by &br />
server. &br />
&reject& means server rejects your request and replies to you (connection refused) &br />
