EMRP Call 2013 - Energy & EnvironmentAbout the EMRP
The European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) is a
metrology-focused European programme of coordinated R&D that facilitates
closer integration of national research programmes. The EMRP is jointly
supported by the European Commission and the participating countries within the
European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET e.V.). The EMRP
will ensure collaboration between National Measurement Institutes, reducing
duplication and increasing impact. The overall goal of the EMRP is to
accelerate innovation and competitiveness in Europe whilst continuing to
provide essential support to underpin the quality of our lives.
The EMRP is a long-term programme for high quality joint R&D
amongst the metrology community in Europe.
is supported by the
European Commission through ERA-NET Plus.
is supported by the European
Commission through Article 169 of the European Treaty.
proposed as EMPIR.
An indication of the fields to be covered, and the schedule for
the calls are given on the EURAMET website
Further information on the EURAMET activities, including
background information on the EMRP, is available at
EMPIR Calls 2015
The Stage 1 Calls for Metrology for Health (HLT), SI Broader Scope (SI), Pre- and Co-normative projects (NRM) and Research Potential (RPT) are now closed.

Early-Stage Researcher Mobility Grants
The aim of the Early-Stage Researcher Mobility Grant is to
“to increase the capability of the European metrology researcher
community” and additionally to “ensure sustainability of cooperation
between the NMI and DI” of the EMRP.

Eidgen?ssisches Institut für MetrologieEURAMET: European Association of National Metrology Institutes: About EURAMET
The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) is a Regional Metrology Organisation (RMO) of Europe. It coordinates the cooperation of National Metrology Institutes (NMI) of Europe in fields like research in metrology, traceability of measurements to the SI units, international recognition of national measurement standards and related Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMC) of its members. Through Knowledge Transfer and cooperation among its members EURAMET facilitates the development of the national metrology infrastructures.
EURAMET is responsible for the elaboration and execution of the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) which is designed to encourage collaboration between European National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and partners in industry or academia. The programme funds joint research projects in specific fields of metrology with over 50 projects selected for funding so far and many more expected over the coming years.
To find out more about the EMRP please visit the

and .European metrology was coordinated successfully over almost 20 years by EUROMET, the European Collaboration in Measurement Standards, based on a Memorandum of Understanding (). New challenges for the European metrology, like aiming at a higher level of integration and coordination of metrology research in the framework of an EMRP, revealed the need to establish a legal entity for the coordination of European metrology.
The establishment of a legal entity has been prepared in the iMERA-Project. As a result, EURAMET e.V. was inaugurated on 11 January 2007 in Berlin, Germany. The 21st EUROMET General Assembly in Teddington, UK, from 30 to 31 May 2007, took the decision to terminate the EUROMET MoU with effect from 30 June 2007. All activities and responsibilities as RMO (Regional Metrology Organisation) have been transferred to EURAMET e.V. with effect from 1 July 2007.}
