Quadrangular steel CHS tower is a type of space truss.Its main members are commonly directly welded at joints and thus the joints have great stiffness.The crossing web members can be restricted by the neighboring members when buckling.In this article the factors that influences the effective lengths of crossing web members are investigated by elasticity theory.And the relationship between the effective lengths and the factors is obtained by multiple calculation models.
