He will soon begin to write a novel. He will soon begin writing a novel.
She began to like novels at twenty.
I shall begin this book today.
I shall begin with this book today.
begin后一般不加from,且絕對不能接from ... to ...。習慣上begin at the beginning和begin from the beginning表達都很普遍,均指「從頭開始」;
The journey begins from Shanghai.
The journey begins from Shanghai to Beijing.
The book began to be read (by him) last Sunday.
The book was begun (by him) to be read last Sunday.
It rained at five o'clock.
It began to rain at three o'clock.
I felt I did not begin to understand him.
Your suggestion does not begin to meet the difficulty.
Nothing has begun to interest her so much as folk music.
begin和commence意思相似,但前者的使用比後者普遍,尤其是口語中。通常正式文字中,會使用commence,如commence hostilities(開始交戰)和Hostilities commenced late that year。commence后多接動名詞,較少接不定式,且多用在有意志的事上;
begin與start的比較:通常來說,begin同start基本上沒有大區別。相對而言,begin較start要正式一些。不過在某些時候,人們習慣用start,如表示『start a journey』(開始旅程)和『start working』(開始工作)中,不用begin;
I began/started teaching when I was 24.
We will begin the meeting with a message from the President. It's starting to rain.
The show begins next week.
She was beginning to know him.
He doesn't begin to speak English. Your suggestion does not begin to meet the difficulty. begin to與其他否定詞(如:no, never, nothing等)連用時,也同屬於這一表達方式。例如:Nothing has begun to interest her so much as folk music.
They began to run at three o'clock.
They are beginning improving the road. They are beginning to improve the road. I'd like to begin to study as soon as possible. I'd like to begin studying as soon as possible.
begin to-v, begin v-ing
He began to pace the room.
When did you begin learning English?
A cold wind began to blow〔blowing〕 as we stood on the deck of the ship.
It's beginning to rain.
He began to understand it.
He is beginning to look old.
They have begun building the house.
She began to feel it.
The novel began to be written last year.
She is beginning to learn English.
begin by, begin with
They began by saying a prayer.
They began with a prayer.
begin, commence, originate, start
begin, open
inaugurate
