This essay analyses Friedrich Schiller's short story Der Verbrecher aus verlorener Ehre from the viewpoint of narratology, based on the categories of time, mode and voice established by G&rard Genette in his Narrative Discourse. Schiller's commitment to the Enlightenment underlies the structure, form and content of the story. Certain formal elements, such as the narrative pause at the opening, the linear time schema and the mixture of authorial narration and narration in the first person singular enhance the understanding of the others, such as the abrupt, dramatic ending of the story suggest a questioning of the traditional form of the crime story as well as a mitigation and at the same time enrichment of the pursuit of rational knowledge through elements of empathy with and sympathy for the criminal. The author's intention to enlighten his readers is also expressed through the content itself, where the case for objectivity, tolerance and humanism, as far as the penal system is concerned, is made. Apart from some doubts concerning the absolute validity of the Enlightenment's view of the world, in this short story Schiller indicates his belief in the priority of moral autonomy over the natural and social predetermination of human beings.In diesem Aufsatz wird eine Analyse von Friedrich Schillers Erz&hlung Der Verbrecher aus verlorener Ehre aus narratologischer Sicht vorgenommen. Als Instrumente der Analyse werden die Kategorien von Zeit, Modus und Stimme angewendet, wie sie G&rard Genette in seinem Werk Die Erz&hlung vorgelegt hat. Form und Inhalt unterst&tzen dabei das aufkl&rerische Grundanliegen Schillers. Gewisse Formelemente, wie die narrative Pause am Anfang der Erz&hlung, das lineare Zeitschema und die Mischung aus auktorialer und Ich-Erz&hlung f&rdern die Einsicht in die Ursachen des Verbrechens, w&hrend andere Eigent&mlichkeiten, wie der abrupte, dramatische Schluss, auf ein In-Frage-Stellen der traditionellen Form der Kriminalerz&hlung hindeuten und eine Relativierung oder doch Bereicherung des Erkenntnisinteresses durch Elemente einer Einf&hlungs&sthetik signalisieren. Aber auch die inhaltlichen Aussagen der Erz&hlung dr&cken die Intention Schillers aus, f&r mehr Objektivit&t, Toleranz und eine humanere Strafjustiz zu pl&dieren. Trotz mancher Zweifel an der absoluten G&ltigkeit der aufkl&rerischen Weltdeutung, bekundet Schiller in dieser Erz&hlung seinen Glauben an die prinzipielle Vorrangigkeit der moralischen Autonomie gegen&ber der nat&rlich und gesellschaftlich bedingten Determination des Menschen.}
