Geomechanics is an interdisciplinary field dealing with the mechanical behaviour of, and fluid flow and transport phenomena in geomaterials (soils, rocks, concrete, ice, snow, powders and ceramics), and their role in diverse applications in geological, geotechnical, structural, earthquake, environmental, mining, offshore and petroleum engineering. The journal emphasizes contributions to the understanding of the complex properties of geomaterials through experimental measurements, and the development or novel use of analytical or numerical techniques to solve problems in geomechanics. Topics of interest in material behavior include instabilities and localization, interface and surface phenomena, fracture and failure, coupled chemo-hygro-thermo-mechanical problems, and time-dependent phenomena. Specifically within the scope of the journal fall the modelling and simulation of heterogeneous materials at different scales, including micromechanics, and any issue that bears upon difficulties encountered in modelling materials where the microstructure becomes important for macroscopically observed mechanical and physical properties. The scope also covers the solution of inverse problems including back analysis of in situ or laboratory tests, and stochastic methods. The journal is particularly interested in contributions that demonstrate the application of theoretical geomechanics in the solution of engineering problems.

Computers and Geotechnics provides an up-to-date reference to the engineers and researchers engaged in computer aided analysis, design and research in geotechnical engineering. The journal is intended for an expeditious dissemination of new developments in the broad areas of soil and rock mechanics. Static, cyclic and transient loading situations are relevant. Contributions on constitutive models of geomaterials (soils, rocks, concrete, masonry, ceramics, etc.), computer analyses of physical models and adequately monitored prototype structures and application of computer techniques to design are especially welcome. Computer codes are not published but novel features of a code can form appendices.

Soils and Foundations is a bi-monthly journal which specializes on the whole field of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines. This journal publishes research papers, reports of important engineering experiences, state-of-the-art reports on important themes, and discussions. Continuing efforts have been made by the editorial board members to maintain the high quality of the journal by reviewing manuscripts in careful and fair manner. A special attention has been focused therefore on the novelty and readers' benefit together with practical applicability if necessary. Further, the editorial board is happy to give instructions to authors of manuscripts which could improve their quality. One of the benefits to non-English-speaking authors is that the English in accepted manuscripts is improved by a specialist who is a native and professionally-educated English speaker. 网络上流传着所谓岩土四大牛刊的说法实际上是不准确的，岩土虽然看似一家，但还是有区别的。那四大牛刊实际上都是偏向于土力学方面的研究，岩石力学的第一刊物就是Elesiver（爱思维尔）旗下的international
journal of rock mechanics and mining
sciences（国际岩石力学及采矿科学杂志），这份杂志创办于60年代，是岩石力学界几个大牛创立的，现在里面的编委各个都还是大牛（这些家伙是实实在在地在做事哦，不是挂个名），口碑很好，岩石力学最影响的文章都是发表在这个刊物上，全球做岩石力学的研究人员都认同的。第二刊物是Springer（斯普林格）旗下的Rock
mechanics and rock
engineering（岩石力学与岩石工程），感觉这个刊物上的文章质量和前一个比，差了不少，但还是不错的。
接下来就是土力学方面的刊物了，首先是Geotechnique（岩土技术？），很老牌的在英国的刊物，实际上感觉它主要偏向于岩土模型方面的文章，以前明尼苏达大学的一个教授P
cundall在上面发过一篇文章，搞岩土的人应该都知道itasca这个公司（他是老板），他有篇离散元的文章（1979年）已经被引用近六千次了（有兴趣大家可以Google下），这是很恐怖的数字，特别是对工程类文章来说是非常之多的，而且引用还在增加（Cundall
2008年当了美国工程院院士，估计这篇文章作用很大）。主要是那篇是离散元方面的鼻祖，而离散元已经应用到科学领域的各个方面，所以这种文章可遇不可求(百年一篇？？？)。但近十年来，感觉刊物的水平在不停地下降，已经有被第二刊物超越的趋势。这第二刊物就是美国土木工程师协会（ASCE）旗下的Journal
of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental
Engineering-ASCE（岩土工程及岩土环境工程学报），这个刊物在北美是公认土力学的第一刊物，全美国上下都认的。有人说你的文章是不是真金，就拿到那里去试试，审稿人的水平是很高的。接下来是Canadian
Geotechnical
Engineering（加拿大岩土杂志），水平也很不错。不过感觉有点泾渭分明，那上面的文章多来自于英联邦国家（和老美搞对抗？？？）。至于Soils
and Foundations 是日本办的，已经被Elesiver买下了好像，应该也不错，但感觉在美国的影响力不高。
接下来是搞土工计算方面的杂志，主要是两个，Wiley旗下的International Journal for Numerical
and Analytical Methods in
Geomechanics（地质力学中的数值及分析方法）和Elesiver旗下的Computer and
Geotech（计算机与岩土技术），基本上岩土计算方面有影响力的文章都发在上面，不过最近有个杂志异军突起，应该说给这两个杂志造成很大的麻烦。
& & 值得一提的有三个杂志，一个是Geotechnical
Journal（岩土测试杂志），属于美国的标准协会底下的，影响因子不高（0.5左右），但是很老牌，大家还是认的。另外一个是Acta
Geotechnica（不会翻译，见谅），Springer旗下的，德国的杂志，影响因子不错（0.8），刚进入SCI不久，以前我没有听说过，不过应该还可以，我见过MIT的朋友在上面发过文章。最后是美国土木工程师协会（ASCE）在2001年创办的International
Journal of
Geomechanics-ASCE（国际地质力学学报？？），这个杂志算是异军突起的，现在还只是EI检索，不过由于美国土木工程师协会实力强大，个人认为被SCI检索只是时间问题，上面的文章质量很不错，现在很多稿源，特别是美国的稿源，都被这个杂志拿走了。
最后是两个感觉比较边缘的杂志，一个是Springer旗下的Geological and Geotechnical
Engineering，这个是个老牌的杂志，不知道为什么感觉影响力一直不是很大，只是EI检索。另外是一个是Tayor旗下的Geomechanics
Geoengineering，创立于2005年，感觉没有什么影响力。另外说一句，Tayor旗下的不少杂志也是SCI检索，但是口碑都非常一般，甚至有很差的。
另外一些与岩土有关的杂志，主要是Elesiver旗下的Engineering
geology（工程地质）,以及Springer旗下Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the
Environment（这个，不会翻译了，见谅），以及土壤学科方面的Geotextiles and
Geomembranes（影响因子很高，不过和岩土工程感觉离得比较远），隧道工程方面的Tunnelling and
Underground Space Technology，地震方面的Earthquake Engineering and
Structural Dynamics， Soil dynamics and earthquake
engineering，石油工程方面的SPE Journal（石油工程第一杂志）和Journal of Petroleum
Science and Engineering，以及矿业方向的杂志International Journal of Mineral
Processing，林林总总，就不多说了。
