约克的课快结束了，晚上一起吃了饭，饭后他有个讲座。听约克的讲座可以看出来他是个老手，讲的很稳当。讲座内容关于2个城市的艺术活动和现状。
讲到意大利的CARRARA卡拉拉市我有些兴奋起来，02年时我游历欧洲，记得在意大利时我到过罗马和佛罗伦萨，还有米兰，没有到过卡拉拉。卡拉拉市是意大利大理石主要产区，出产众多的意大利大理石和石灰石，特别是这里的白色大理石，著名的卡拉拉矿区就在这里。听约克说大山的大面积的白色不是雪，是大理石，天哪！简直是太壮观了。2000多年的开采居然还有这么多，要是某个勤劳贪婪的民族老早就毁完了。他们优质的品性没有浪费这里的石矿，米开朗基罗的大卫的石料也来自卡拉拉的大山上，由于大卫的的石料据约克说整块有80吨左右，这是在难以想象这巨石怎样从山上运下来的。当时有多少雕塑家惧色于巨石之下，米开朗基罗担起了天神般的重任。
在我眼里巨匠就是神。现在的卡拉拉是雕塑家的天堂，世界各地的雕塑家会聚集于此工作生活。卡拉拉有所卡拉拉美术学院（意大利语Accademia di belle arti DI
CARRARA）位于意大利托斯卡纳大区的卡拉拉城，是一所创建于1757年的高等美术学院，至今已有数百年的悠久历史。建筑古老，约克说站在阳台上可以看到远处白色的石山。有不少亚洲艺术家在此学习。
