I am trying again to use BOINC and Seti@Home after getting an email asking me get back to calculating.
With the new versions of BOINC and SAH, I still have these issues on a mandriva linux 10.1 system:
1. every html popup produced by BOINC opens gedit, rather than Mozilla or the Mandriva browser.
How do I fix this?
2. After one day, BOINC typically crashes hard, requiring a big red button restart.
This was worst with both EinsteinAH and setiAH projects running, so now I am trying without Einstein.

Thank you very much for this suggestion, but it does not work for this system.
I type BROWSER=/usr/local/firefox/ export BROWSER and the in the same (bash) shell, type
./run_manager
and still every time I press any button that wants to show a html response, I get gedit opening, rather than a browser.

It could also be any other hardware related problem (overheating (bad fans ?), CPU, cache or memory).
Did you system running stable, if you only let einstein running ?
