Sasson. It was invented in 1975. People use it to take photos. The telephone was
invented in 1876. It was invented by Alexander Bell. It is used for
communicating with each other. Telephone makes it easier to communicate when you
are far away from each other. Radio was invented by Guglielmo Marconi. It was
invented in 1895. When you are free, you can use it to listen to the news and
music. It also makes our life more interesting.

Fiction books
like novels or short-story collections can take you to another
world or help you imagine something beyond your own experience. Not
all fiction is the same. Try different types of fiction and see
what you prefer.
Nonfiction
books give you the who, what , when, and why of something. They
tell stories using facts—but that doesn’t mean they’re dull. Many
people read them as novels from start to finish.

Often, they’ll have similar styles and you might find you like

Expressing emotionsis important rather than hiding them
or keeping them inside. Everyone feels negativeemotions such as anger and needs to
deal with them. But there are healthy ways to
express anger and ways to control it.&
Shouting bad words at someone
will hurt the other person or make them angry too. If you feel
angry, it is best to think before you speak. Some people in the UK use the
expression “take a deep breath and count to 10”, meaning take a
break, breathe deeply and let yourself calm down instead of
expression people use to say
they are controlling their anger is “biting their
lip”. This means not letting the bad
words come out of their mouth. If you cannot think of anything but
bad words, it is probably best to “bite your lip”. But sometimes
letting all your anger out can be cathartic, as long as you do it at the right place and time. If you
have just had a bad day, you could go into a room by yourself and
scream very loudly. Or if you want to hit someone or
break something into pieces, you could hit a pillow instead. Then
after you let your anger out this way, you’ll be able to deal with
your problems more calmly.
If you do lose your temper with someone, though,
you need to apologize. One way to do this is to say “pardon my French”. This
expression has been used for many years as an apology for bad
language. Then you can calmly explain what made you

Can you understand this sentence? If you can’t,
don’t feel too bad: neither could the middle school teacher in

Schoolteachers and parents say this new form of
writing is harming the English language. Increasing spelling and
grammatical mistakes can be seen in students’ writing. They fear
the language could become corrupted().
Everyone should just relax, say
linguists(). They believe Netspeak is in fact
more of a good thing. David Crystal, from the University of Wales,
argues that Netspeak and Internet create a new language use and the
almost lost art of diary writing has been picked up again. Geoffrey
Nunberg, from Stanford University, agrees. “People get better at
writing by writing,” he says. “Kids who are now doing text
messaging, e-mail, and instant messages will write at least as well
as, and possibly better than, their parents.”
Linguist James Milroy says, for centuries, it is
believed without exception that young people are harming the
language. And you can be sure that when today’s teenagers become
tomorrow’s parents, they will think this way, too. Milroy argues
that languages do not and cannot become “corrupted”; they simply
change to meet the new needs.
However, Netspeakers do agree that it is important
to teach young people how to speak and write Standard English.
Cynthia McVey says, “I can understand Netspeak worries teachers and
it’s important to make their pupils understand that text messaging
is for fun, but that to learn to write proper English is necessary
for their future.”
Perhaps, we should give teenagers a little more
trust anyway. Erin, age 12, says, “I wouldn’t use text language in
my homework. Text is just for fun.”

III. When you first meet someone, talking about
what you like or dislike is a good way to get to know each other.
For example, if you are a football fan, you might ask your new
friend about his or her favourite sports. There are many ways to
express liking for something.
Your new friend may say, “I’m really into
basketball.”. To be “into” something means that you have a great
interest in it. Someone who is into basketball would likely follow
all of the games, know all the rules of the games.
And if you have no interest in something or
dislike it, there are also several ways to express that. A stronger
way to say you dislike something is “I can’t stand that.”. However,
unless you are with someone you know well or who agrees with you,
it might not be very polite to use this. If your new friend says
he’s a fan of hip hop, it would not be polite to say you can’t
stand hip hop. A more polite way would be to say that you are “not
too keen on” hip hop.
Talking about what you like or dislike shows what
you have in common with the other person. Even if you don’t share
all the same interests, you learn more about the other person and
about what you may enjoy doing together.

puppy or kitten without considering the work it has. They may keep
it for a few months and then find that they are too busy to
properly care for an animal.
In this situation, it would be best to find a new
home for the pet, but unluckily, some people do not do this.
Instead, they leave the animal on the street somewhere. These
homeless animals wander around, looking for food in the trash.
Sometimes they catch an illness, which harms them and
harm other people and animals.
Homeless animals produce babies, which makes even
more homeless animals. Puppies and kittens that are born in the
streets are more likely to be wild. They will not be friendly to
people like house pets. As there are more homeless animals around,
the problem of homelessness becomes even worse.
Now there are seven charities that help homeless
animals. They take the homeless to an animal shelter. They clean
the animals up, feed them, give them medicine and try to find good
homes for them.
