The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server.遇到这个问题了吗，我遇见过几次了，终于解决了
& 很多时候我们选择生成主页的时候选择“动态浏览”，进去主页之后，地址栏显示的是：& & &你的域名/index.php?upcache=1；& 但是当我们再点击主页的时候地址栏显示的是：& & &你的域名/index.html;& 然后就出现了：&&& 这个时候我们就蒙圈了，其实是这样的，动态浏览的时候就不要再去点击主页了，浏览其他的页面就可以了，如果想要继续浏览的话，可以选择生成静态主页，那么就不会出现这些问题了。所以为了方便，我们可以一直生成静态的index.html文件，那么就一直都不会出错了。就写到这吧，有什么疑问请联系景华SEM，我将尽自己所能为你解决。

Info:& My web-hosting provider:[/]& is &&my web-browser is :& firefox. [/]situation: I created a database called smfdatabase and one username and password.& However,& I uploaded the smf files to hxxp:/forum/install.php [nonactive], without any problems. however, I did not modified the uploaded files. Problem: I get this error: (The requested URL /cgi-bin/php/forum/install.php was not found on this server.Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an Error Document to handle the request.)Does any body know what could be causing the problem? It seems like is redirecting me to ( cgi-bin/php/forum/install.php) I've been trying to fix this error for numerous hours with no success. Please HELP ME.&

your provider or just for instance ?A link to your site can be helpfull just as the SMF version you are working with

Hello,I had problems with the .htaccess file blocking images.I was getting the same error as you.Check the contents of this file. Also post it up here and someone might be able to help,Jon

FOUND THE SOLUTION
my webhosting provider: Does Hostway support PHP?Hostway’s Gold Plans and above provide support for PHP. Each PHP-enabled domain has its own separate PHP environment that you can control.At Hostway, PHP is run as a CGI binary. You may be familiar with PHP as an Apache module. Hostway does not run PHP as an Apache module on our shared servers. Hostway supports &mod_php& only on dedicated, unmanaged Linux servers.solution: my free plan didn't support& .php files. 使用yum安装软件出现“The requested URL returned error: 404”解决方法
[摘要：新装置的一台办事器，因为正在客户那边，本身内网做的yum源出有举措应用了，以是只能应用互联网的yum源去装置或更新硬件了，正在应用yum的时间老是提醒The requested URL returned error: 40]
& & 新安装的一台服务器，由于在客户那里，自己内网做的yum源没有办法使用了，所以只能使用互联网的yum源来安装或者更新软件了，在使用yum的时候总是提示The requested URL returned error: 404这个错误，经过一番折腾总算解决了。 & &首先说下yum源，使用的是163的源。/.help/CentOS6-Base-163.repo[base]name=CentOS-$releasever - Base - baseurl=/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/#mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=osgpgcheck=1gpgkey=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-6
& &配置好以后，直接yum clean all，没什么问题，接下来yum makecache的时候报错就出来了。 & http://mirror.centos.org/centos/%24releasever/os/i386/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 404"

Please verify its path and try again & 网上说是因为DNS的问题，好吧，试了一下，没用啊，DNS改完也不行，ping源地址还是没问题，wget也没问题。再看看报错吧！http://mirror.centos.org/centos/%24releasever/os/i386/repodata/repomd.xml这个地址怎么成这样了呢？%24是神马东东，复制地址，到浏览器，果然是404错误，正常的源地址肯定不是这个，那么看一下配置文件吧，baseurl=/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
& &$releaserver这个应该是系统的版本，那么我们看一下这个变量能不能解释吧，[root@aaa ~]# echo $releasever
[root@aaa ~]# &好吧，发现问题了吧，这个变量不能解释啊，试试将它换成网站上的6，看能不能行呢。[base]name=CentOS-$releasever - Base - #baseurl=/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/baseurl=/centos/6/os/i386/#mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=osgpgcheck=1gpgkey=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-6 & &修改完毕，重新试一下，果然没问题了[root@aaa yum.repos.d]# yum makecache
